That's a vicious thing to say publicly in a so-called roast. I wouldn't be surprised if this were true. This kind of thing was very widespread. He would have been in his teens in the early 60's, but Hollywood was already perverted then.
I read a thing once where Shirley Temple went to meet a studio executive when she was 12, and he was naked and showing his dick. She laughed at him nervously and finally got out of there.
She told her mom afterwards, and her mom said another studio exec had propositioned her while Shirley was being molested. That's typical Hollywood, even in the old days.

Let's say he is a captured asset and not "one of them". Why would all his films contain subliminal (and not so subliminal) messages? Even if one cannot recognise the deeper layers, the very act of watching a horror film leaves scars on the soul. Why would he produce sick films like the Shining, or Space Odyssey, if not to scar and demoralize his audience?
As for Eyes Wide Shut*, he stated that Cruise (a scientologist, aka "one of them") and Kidman (a witch, look up her father) got the better of him and steered the film where they wanted. Even if we believe him as a victim, the prior question remains.
* The clue is in the title: pretends to reveal, but in reality it hides.
I disagree. These films often serve as predictive programming or exposure.
I like a lot of horror films actually.
Not nihilist ones like Rob zombie movies.... But of the supernatural ones.
I always thought the title represented the ignorance of the masses.
All the clues are there but they're not willing to see it, like the Tom Cruise character.
The characters know exactly what they are getting into (pdf), that's why they leave their daughter unattended in the last scene, to be escorted outside the store by two strangers. It's the audience that the title refers to. Anyway, this is the wrong topic for this discussion.

I believe it's a meta narrative or just an internet rumor, but it's difficult to ascertain what is true and what isn't with these types. They like to misdirect, partly reveal, partly hide. Movie directors can be thought of as magicians, wielding soft magic not producing fireballs from their staff, but casting charm spells through images and sound on the brains of the audience.
There is no verifiable accounts that support the theory of "the studio cut 40 mins". By all accounts, the final version was considered by Kubrick as finished. What they did cut was some explicit nudeness during the orgy scene to retain PG-13 status.
My point is, Kubrick was one of the best magicians in Hellywood, he can't be seriously considered as a whistleblower. He was "one of them".
His last screenplay was "AI", which Stephen Spielstein ( a fan of Kubrick) took and made it a movie.
