The Trump tariffs

Apparently China is folding like some rusty old lawn chairs?

China cares too much about saving face and wanting to look strong, and probably are willing to throw good money after bad to thst end.

If the USA really does return to manufacturing then Trump will have earned every accolade and thank you for the next hundred years.

I’m still halfway convinced he has no idea what he’s doing and is just trying random tariffs to see what works and what doesn’t

“ "If we fight, we will fight to the end; if we talk, the door is open," China's commerce ministry stated on Friday. "The tariff war and trade war were unilaterally initiated by the United States. If the United States wants to talk, it should show its sincerity and be prepared to correct its wrong practices and cancel the unilateral tariffs."

China has reportedly compiled a list of US goods exempt from its 125% tariffs, aiming to ease trade tensions without making public concessions. The list is expanding, with recent waivers on US ethane, some semiconductor products, and certain pharmaceuticals, offering behind-the-scenes relief while maintaining a tough public stance”

It's still mind boggling to me that asking for fair trade, not even fair trade just fairer trade, has created victims of all these countries and turn us into bad guys....

China has been the lifeline of Russia. And Iran. Trump just announced anyone buying iranian oil to be sanctioned. This is specifically targeted at China. Since they are Iran oil biggest buyer. If China continues to support Iran. They will be sanctioned.

This is pointless, and will change nothing.
The US movie industry is dying is because it's almost all pro leftist, pro faggot, pro feminist, pro immigrant, anti male, anti white, anti patricidal garbage.
The number of foreign made movies that have even the minimal amount small success in the USA has always been less than 1%.
Hollywood and the domestic US movie production needs to be purged and cleansed for the industry to survive.

While I agreed on some of your points, one need to look at China's control of Hollywood for pushing propaganda that you mentioned. China won't show America's LGBQT, anti-white, etc. propaganda films in their own country, but they fully want those crap to show in America's theaters because they can easily control Americans' mind by staying in the shadow without being noticed.

Same thing can be applied to NBA as well.

This may be true, built a tariff on foreign made films has nothing to do with this issue.
If the US movie and television industry is partially under Chinese financial control, that issue must be addressed within the USA itself by full auditing and disclosure of all finances filmmakers and producers receive from all sources both foreign and domestic.

He needs to reinstate the catholic legion of decency. Putting Gibson there. And getting rid of homosexual communist jews poisoning the movies with their filthy propaganda.

Putting tarrifs on foreign movies??????? Which movies? Hollywood is the biggest producer. Its useless. He might create a backlash with tariffs from other countries. And bankrupt hollywood in the process. Which wouldnt be that bad.

Hollywood is dead already. No amount of tariff protection is going to help the industry (although I support Trump’s efforts). People have moved on to YouTube and TikTok and attention spans are dwindling so fast that the upcoming generations aren’t going to be able to hold their attention to what is available on streaming. Plots and stories have been done to death, so much so that any modern show is basically a merger of the soap opera format with film, hence the season long process of telling a story — it’s the only way to keep people who grew up on TV and film mesmerized to the same format.

I don’t think you can ever kill TV and film. There have always been garbage TV shows that get canceled. There have always been some decent to good or even great TV shows.

Heck, I like the Mandalorian, which is run by jew faggots from Disney.(the rest of the Star Wars franchise seems to be on life-support, happy May 4 day) The good films and shows will do well, the bad ones won’t survive.

I understand where you’re coming from and I would’ve made the same argument not too long ago. But having worked in the industry and talked to people still in the industry, the outlook is bleak.

What really sealed the deal for me was working at a youth conference years ago, which featured two sets of celebrity guests which kids could get in a line for a photo-op with the celebrity. One set from a hit TV show and the other set a couple of YouTubers for a popular channel. Who had the biggest line by a long shot? The YouTubers.

Couple this with me now having kids and noticing the viewing patterns of not only my kids, but their friends and extended family as well. YouTube and YouTube Kids rule the day hands-down. It’s the majority of their viewing time.

I suspect we’re in the throes of a generational shift. Much like legacy media news is dying out, so is film/tv.

Yes but they are still watching TV and Movies online. Netflex and other streaming services are ultra popular. People like their make believe shows, especially women. They eat it up all day long.

But even when accounting for streaming services people's viewing time is much more fragmented then before. 30 years ago there was just TV (and cable TV) and the cinema. Now people's attention is split between social media, youtube, netflix, reddit, the cinemas, etc.

Even when talking about normies I don't even know anybody who even goes to the cinema regularly anymore. It used to be common for people to go to the cinemas 3 or 4 times a year as an activity but now I see most normies only go to the cinemas once every few years because the quality of box office movies are so crap today due to wokeism and rehashing of old story lines and continuations of dated franchises, etc that nobody is motivated to go anymore. All the really memorable movies that had a massive impact on culture (the Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, etc) are all really old. The onyl exception to this in the past ten years has been some of the kids movies such as Frozen. No movie being released in the current era will have the same cultural impact of movies such as the godfather, fight club, the original gladiator, terminator, the matrix, the lord of the rings, etc.

Trump is saying what??? Messaging and propaganda...not from Hollywood, but from the countries that refuse to be exposed to Hollywood's actual and degenerate messaging and propaganda. This is absurd! Maybe the US should stop propping up Israel and Ukraine instead, in order to improve it's economy? (Just an idea) More meaningless distractions coming from the WH!

Trump's main focus is China. And there has to be a reason why he is going after Hollywood.

To understand how much influence and control China has in Hollywood films, check out an investigative journalist's hour long documentary called "Hollywood Takeover: China’s Control in the Film Industry".
