The China Thread

By the way that Gary Webb guy that is the difference between western culture and Chinese culture. Where are the Chinese equivalents of Gary Webb or Julian Assange?

Serpentza is China's whistleblower. :ROFLMAO:

Here he claims China is a low trust society - everyone is stealing from everyone according to a decade old video.

Oh wait...damn those expats actually living in China right now proving another one of his video is wrong? They need to be discredited!!! Every single instagram travel blogger is a wumao btw. Yes they may have traveled other countries before but when it comes to China, the moment they step foot on Chinese soil, they're automatically contributing to the Chinese economy and thus are paid agents. Never trust your eyes. Except for Serpentza he is a trustworthy source of China.

What would a Chinese Gary Webb be denouncing? Fake Xinjiang concentration camps?
The Chinese equivalent of the NSA, the total surveillance of citizens and all of the soviet style information files they keep on all their citizens, the persecution of all ethnic minority groups in China, China's control of Taiwan, the corrupt Chinese financial system which is a house of cards and filled to the brim with fraud, rampant corruption from senior Chinese communist party officials. There are a million things to talk about in China.

Ai Weiwei, a high profile Chinese artist, is a legitimate Chinese political dissident, meaning he seems principled and isn't a sellout. There's your Chinese Assange figure, he was detained by the Chinese authorities for several months. Incidentally, Ai also supported Assange.

He had a lot of his art upbringing in NYC as a young expat and has absorbed some of the liberal values from that period, however he also has a conservative side., Ai Weiwei was a prominent figure who was celebrated in the West, until he recently came out in support of the Palestinians in Gaza, when he started getting blackballed in the western art circuit. He kind of had a similar path as Solzhenitsyn in that sense, who was greatly celebrated in the West as a Soviet dissident, but also fell out of favor as he became critical of modern western liberalism, in that sense, Ai Weiwei is legit.

So the example you have is a China men who grew up partly in the west? That is the example you could come up with that sort of proves the point that the Chinese hive mind mentality tends not to produce these kind of people.

And yes the west is rapidly losing its freedom and deteriorating but still a long way to go before we are as bad as China.

Depends where you are - on a campus it's no different than any other Communist country. In blue cities it's about the same or worse than Russia.

Only in the deep countryside of America is a man very free.
