Latest Baltic Brain Damage

The Baltic democracies of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are constantly being touted by Western political leaders. These state(let)s are incredibly pernicious because their leaders are always seeking to (mis)lead the West, mainly the United States, into conflict with Russia. The SMO in Ukraine has only emboldened them and made their discriminatory policies and racism more overt.

I'm not indifferent to Soviet era suffering by people in the Baltic states, but their behavior since independence has been nothing but contemptible.

On a serious note, about the "Kiwala" tanker. Apparently she was sailing without proper registration - Djibouti removed her from their registry under western pressure, but she was still flying their flag.

It's worth mentioning Estonia has a Russian minority of nearly 300,000. I think part of Russia's protests against "Nazism" by former Soviet nationalities relates to this, especially given that the Baltics had very willing Nazi collaborators (they were one of Europe's few territories to be declared judenfrei). I don't know why Russian leaders bother, though. There's not a doubt in my mind that Western leaders would turn a blind eye to a genocide of Russians in Estonia and the Baltics. The Estonians obviously see them as a fifth column and are trying to make their lives as miserable as possible to get them to leave voluntarily (a silly plan since Russians can endure miserable conditions). Still, it helps to have a superpower backing you up, or else you'd be toast.

I read the article. I didn't see anything in the article mentioning in any way how the Russians in Estonia were wronged or mistreated recently. Its more of a fear they have of what might happen to them in the future. So far they seem to be okay though.

Eastern Orthodox people will always hate Nazism because it caused them a lot of suffering in the past. Whether that be Russians who died in WW2 or Serbs who were genocided by Nazi Croats during the same period.

Western conservatives and even Orthodox people from the west see positives in Nazism that Eastern Orthodox people categorically reject.

It's almost as if the west can't simply embrace Christian values, but needs some kind of political foundation behind it for the people to become truly convicted.

As for the Baltics, they would probably rather accept 25 million Muslims than agree to peace with Russia. They are truly delusional. As bad as identity politics are in the west I still feel as though the Baltics, Balkans etc. have taken it to a level I can't see the west reaching in the next 20 to 30 years.
