The Venezuela Thread

Trump claims to have captured President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela, and presumably the looting of the oil fields will soon commence. Was it a negotiated exit by Maduro?

Cuba and Greenland will be next on the menu.

We can look forward to a Soviet-style show trial in the US.

Ok forum, without any background information here, my initial brain zap says this:

1. Puts Americans in more danger than they were yesterday

2. Does nothing to help or protect Americans

3. Creates instability across the board

4. Somehow benefits Jews

5. Is just bizarre and a weird betrayal from someone who told everyone he wasn’t going to do the endless war thing when he wanted your vote

Please explain to me why any of my initial impressions are wrong. I’ll be looking into this as well.

US residents waking up to the news that they slept through a 3 hour US bombing of Caracas....

....and then hearing that the president of Venezuela has already been captured by the USA and taken out of the country...

...and finally realizing the US whole operation is already over !

This is me. I saw something about US attacks on Venezuela just before bed, but I thought it referred to hits on drug boats. Now I wake up and see this.

I'm afraid we will have a "You broke it, you bought it" situation now, and will be trying to do nation building there. At least there is no widespread destruction from war.

They have the world's largest oil reserves by a huge margin, but it will take years of investment to restore production. However, I understand a large percentage of the population thinks they shouldn't have to work, because the government should pay them all large amounts of oil money. The people's work ethic is broken from years of socialist promises by Chavez and Maduro. Who would want to take charge of this mess?

Edit: Also, I see that capturing Maduro doesn't necessarily mean their government has been replaced and is under US control. Further military action is being threatened.

I know we're war-weary from two decades of nation building (and various unsuccessful efforts in the Balkans and Somalia before), but the situation in Venezuela is different.

In Iraq, we disposed a leadership that actually did a good job of maintaining peace among disparate warring religious factions. In Afghanistan, we tried to impose a progressive Western ideology on a simple, tribal group of people that barley recognized they lived in a nation state.

With Venezuela, you're dealing with a group of people with a cohesive national identity, who are productive and had a functioning, prosperous nation in the recent past and recent memory. You also have a large Venezuelan diaspora spread throughout the Americans that would love to return home to the country they love and reopen businesses and improve their native land.

Yes, there will be problems, but I think the completely different historical circumstances offer a lot more hope than in previous situations.

This is not the beginning of a new war. This is similar to President Reagan's military operation in Panama to remove Manuel Noriega in the 1980"s. Trump is going after the drug cartels. Without going down a rabbit hole, Venezuela is where the source code for Smartmatic voting machines came from and the cartels are up to their ass in it. Remember the 2020 election? Trump does and anyone who thinks Trump will let any of that go is seriously miss reading the man.

Yeah Make Venezuela Great Again. I’m really stoked about how this benefits all the Venezuelans in America, and look forward to paying taxes to improve their country for them to make it as comfortable as possible for their transition home, if they choose to do so.

Oh yeah, we all remember Grandpa Amnesty and the War Against Drugs. That totally worked.

The invasion of Panama was George Hw Bush’s attempt to get rid of his wimp/simp image in 1990.

And yeah the official reason was “we need to stop Panama’s. Drug trafficking operation in the region”

This war did nothing did nothing to stop drugs from coming into the USA

The problem I see other than another Tin Pot with a failed Western-Funded Ideology who isn't innocent, is a Judeo-Masonic Western Government who have been running Protection for the International Banking Cartel and it's Rootless Cabal for decades. How do you cirlce a square and find something that isn't a cover for something else more diabolical down wind?

As far as I can tell, ((they)) still have control over our Foreign Policy. As ((they)) still run the International Drug Trade as they did near 200 years ago in the Opium War in China.

Well after a record year of drug overdoses in '23 we're seeing a dramatic decrease in overdoses over '24 and '25. While some if that was tied to a leveling off from Covid-19 policy, you can expect the trend to continue for the next few years as the southern border has been closed and drug boats are being vaporized.

Reagan's cold war era actions and policies are apples and oranges to today. The only point I was trying to make is that the removal of a strong man in the western hemisphere isn't without precedent. For the next two months everyone in the media will be saying it is.
