I've actually asked him how he exactly envisions China invading the US or Ireland (another country he claims China will conquer in the next few decades) and he's never been able to give an answer more detailed than something about drones flying across the ocean and somehow not only annihilating all resistance but also governing these conquered nations and also being able to turn the population there into fertilizer. I'm guessing his podcasts haven't filled him in on the details of how this is supposed to happen.
Drones are being used extensively in the Russian/Ukraine conflict but even then land troops are leaded to actually hold territory. If Russia can't use drones to conquer a country that is right next to them then l can't imagine how China is supposed to conquer and colonize nations separated by oceans. I already know his counter argument to this is going to be something about how China technology is already super advanced (apparently not advanced enough to conquer the third world nations around them though) without any specifics or examples/prototypes of how this technology will exactly work. Basically his argument will just amount to appealing to some sci-fi scenario that he won't be able to clearly illustrate other than some appeal to Chinese being super IQ so it's inevitable they will develop this technology within 50 years
There's a reason that professional military officers, which I used to be for almost a decade, spend tons of time studying war, our enemies tactics and disposition etc, and participate in and conduct multiple graduate level educational schools as part of matriculation up the ranks.
The fundamentals of warfare have not changed and will not change as long as human beings roam the earth.
Tactics may change but fundamentals are evergreen.
To occupy and control a land you must use troops on the ground... Maybe in 250 years we can use nothing but robot T500s to control opposing enemy lands but as it currently stand it's a no joy on AI or drones being the end all be all.
Your point is spot on about Russia.
Russia is not a 3rd or 2nd rate military. They are excellent and a peer.
Yet their efforts have not succeeded in regime change which after the first 6 months of the Ukraine war is clearly what they wanted.
How is China, who is completely reliant on copying our tech and our money going to compete when they can't even get the super conductors and chips they need with out us allowing that via their own neighbor Taiwan (whom is really part of China if you follow Nixons One China Policy)?
We are exerting much much much more pressure on them than they want to admit and as much as I love the guys at the Duran... They over play how independent China. Trump via Peter Navarro know that. This was continued under Biden and will continue under Vance.
I've literally had conversations with executives Huwaie (Andy Purdy) as to why they are blocked from doing business with us on a local level...and it's because we know the government requires the Chinese to be agent of the CCP on any foreign interaction. If you want more on that discussion it's pretty fascinating on how he as the chief security officer (elite capture) tries to sell and lobby for the company through bullshit like green energy and customer user interface distortions...but I digress.
