Some claim that Eucharist is required for salvation. Isn’t that works and not faith?
They would say it's not works. The problem is turning the Eucharist into a legalistic checkbox for salvation still misses the whole point of the ordinance.

I would say receiving the Eucharist is a work (one that you can commit unworthily, according to Scripture) but that it's a sanctifying, not justifying, work. The Eucharist is not for a people who need to be saved, it's for a people who are saved.
