Over 4000mg in a day can cause irreversable liver damage. That's 8 extra strength at 500 per pill. If you've been drinking, 2000 can do it, but she was pregnant so probably not drinking.
Those numbers wouldn't kill you on the spot though, I don't think. She would have had to take more, maybe 5-6k.
On the one hand, this story might be fake. On the other hand, there are about 500 tylenol deaths per year. The liver can clear it at a certain rate, but if you exceed the amount the liver can clear, then it's really bad for the liver, deadly poison
