I think the issue is mainly with people being unaware of the Russian and general Eastern European Orthodox mindset and set of beliefs.

Russians and Orthodox Eastern Europeans generally associate hatred towards Jews with Nazism. This is simply due to history. The Nazis attacked Russia, thus, they don't see anything positive in adopting any of those attitudes. In addition, Ukrainians, Latvians etc. who collaborated with the Nazis are generally Russophobic and view Hitler as the one that "liberated" them from the Russians at least temporarily.

The situation is similar in places like Serbia. Some Croats and even Bosnians joined forces with the Nazis and took part in large scale killings of Orthodox Serbs. Those Serbs were kept in concentration camps, along with Jews in places like Nis in southern Serbia.

Meanwhile, in the West many conservatives convert to Orthodoxy, because they view it as a more based form of Christianity, which it surely is.
