He's going to get 3 Ron Pauls' and ½ of Bernie Sanders elected and hold congress hostage until they balance the budget apparently.

I'm not sure it's going to work if he's running against strong MAGA candidates. Massey and Paul are well liked by their constituents...and to run third party would cut them off from a lot of access and platforms.

And if Massey is the bell weather, I'm still wondering why he voted for extending the debt ceiling under Biden but somehow found a backbone this fo around.

I think it's more Elon attention seeking than anything.

Interestingly...not sure if this a good move for his stock and companies.

I think it could work! Younger gens are not as set in their ways as boomers. The dynamic of the MSM telling people what to think is hopefully soon over. X is the main news source in more and more nations. Elon has a very wide reach, so things could move faster than you think! We have to rethink all of politics and Government. Why try to conserve something that is crap? AI tools can cut costs and bureaucracy massively. With Elon as the driver, real change could happen very fast, and he would make sure it doesn't derail.

Don't buy the lie that Government has to be slow, they just say that to maintain power over you! With that you could actually have a chance at border control, pulling the US out of NATO, more sound currency, balanced budget, scientific progress, higher living standards etc. I think most people in the comments underestimate the frustration of voters. If we finally have a real shot at getting rid of the horrible uniparty, it's worth taking!

Here is why:
1. Tied to employer - so they can basically control the fate of the employee. In some cases they just take your passport.

2. Ridiculously low bar of approval

3. A 'green card' carrot that keeps the employee hooked for years, not demanding wage increases. Also the employer knows how hard (if not impossible) it is for the employee to leave, so they are not high on the 'we must do something to retain this person' list

4. Many many body shops who file for H1B visa and then farm out the employees to larger corporations. These employers, also called consultants, take a cut of the fee the companies pay them and give the employee the bare minimum. And if they are 'benched' then no pay (yeah I know that is illegal)

5. For every Ashok Elluswamy there are one hundred B and C grade engineers who would be barely employable in their home country but get jobs here due to them agreeing to 1-4.

Now don't get me wrong. There are many many good H1b engineers too. But the fraud and abuse is 10X that. And ultimately benefits no one (other than the corporations of course)

MAGA is actually a 3rd party subtlety imbedded into the Republican Party and has the best overall agenda IMO. Just need future presidents and congress elects with Trump’s charisma, toughness, influence and negotiation skills but a whole lot less of the egomaniac personality defects that turn off and alienate so many people. Continue to evolve the Republican Party weeding out the existing GOP/neocon swamp dwellers, and continue to find ways to clean up the corruption and prevent it in the future.

For this to work Elon, or rather his candidates cause it doesn't look like he has the balls to run himself, would have to draw voters from both parties, which is unlikely considering the herd mentality of liberal voters - same people who used to idolize Tesla, had no problem with burning them down once they were told to do so. So if anything, his candidates would only draw right of center votes away from the GOP allowing Dems to score easy victories. The previously mentioned 1992 elections are a good example of how it ends. A smarter choice would be for Elon to use his money to back patriot challengers against establishment politicians in primary races across the country.

With the way the two-party system is so dominant in US politics, the best way to get your agenda promoted is to worm your way through one of the two major parties. For examples, look at guys like Rand/Ron Paul and Massie. They would fit comfortably in the official Libertarian Party but if they were actually in those parties, they would have never gotten elected in the first place. Instead they won their seats through the GOP parties and now they now have more influence then any Libertarian Party politician.

You see the same thing coming from the left. There is an official Democratic Socialists of America organization but they aren't an actual party. Rather they do their best to get their people elected through the Democrat party. People like AOC and the rest of the Squad are their (rotten) fruits and these people are way more influential then they would have been if they have joined one of the actual socialist parties that basically have no pull at all in American politics.

I'm guessing Elon sees himself as a kingmaker and that since he viewed himself as the guy that got Trump re-elected he figured he can do the same with other politicians. It takes two to tango though. I'm not sure if he recruit someone that will be able to pull off the same types of political theatrics.
