I thought I’d create a thread to see what unusual things guys here on CIK are good at. A few years ago I used to listen to a talk back radio show and people would call in and talk about what quirky things they excelled at, and I found it to be really interesting and at times hilarious.
I’ll kick it off with a couple……
I can stack a dish rack to perfection (yes occasionally I’ll do them myself by hand as I hate dishwashing machines).
I’ll have all of the plates, saucers, cutlery and even bulky cooking utensils stacked in such a way that when I get home the next day they are as dry as a bone, no tea towel required to dry any little bits of water, and ready to be put straight into the cupboard. I could challenge any of my family or friends and they wouldn’t get close to doing it effectively as I do.
Secondly, I can spot a bloke wearing a hair piece a mile off. If I’m strolling through a shopping centre and I see a dude out of the corner of my eye that’s got a boot polish coloured rug, bang I’ve got him!
So lads, what are you good at?

I have a knack for spotting money on the ground. Even when I am riding my bicycle I can often spot a 5 cent coin from 10 metres away. Maybe I have some unknown Jewish ancestry somewhere in my lineage haha.

I can drive a car in reverse pretty well, to back down winding driveways, or even tricky one way 4x4 trails. I got good at it from driving a forklift, which is often driven backwards due to the load on the forks blocking the forward view.

I can cross my legs very well, sort of a yoga pose. A woman complimented it in an ice cream store when I was a kid, and said many people can't do it even as adults. My dad has more elasticity than me but I managed to get this from him.

Im a chameleon. I can blend in with any class, race, intelligence level, etc.

Im going on a personal trip with the owner of my company, all covered by him, but also love sharing a beer or a chat with many of the employees that I manage.

Probably a bit patronizing sometimes, but I like to get different perspectives on life.

Again, can relate! We used to challenge one another in the warehouse when the work got quiet and we were bored.

This one’s not mine, but regarding a guy I used to spend a lot of time with at the local pub many years ago. He could roll up a smoke as good and as quickly as no other. He would take out the papers, sprinkle on the tobacco, give it a quick lick of the tongue, then bingo it was in his gob and he was puffing away in no time! And it was always shaped perfectly. As a life long non smoker I was always impressed.
