What's the deal with the autoworkers' strike? I looked up their demands and one demand is the elimination of the tiered worker system. Thing is, I have a relative who was hired as a temp and he was really excited about the pay because it's enough to pay his bills, save, and give to the poor. And now he's laid off.
And isn't GM basically owned by the government since the bailouts?
It looks like the "basic" American way of life requires a lot of money and material things and vacations and keeping up with the Joneses. It looks like being poor or even just not being greedy is a sin in our culture.
Also, I looked up the president of the UAW union, and his phenotype doesn't indicate much in the way of intelligence or virtue. He might be easily swayed to do some wrecking and help usher in EVs.
