The Iran and Wider Middle East Thread

Geography is one of Iran's greatest advantages. The overall size of the country, as well as mountain ranges protecting both: their assets and access points, make it a very difficult target for any invading, or even just attacking force.

It's not big like the US, but it's pretty large. It's the 18th largest by size, and 17th largest by population, at 91 million.

All of this happening on Election Day is very suspicious. Is Netanyahu consolidating power, knowing Trump will win, because Trump will be more pro-Israel than Kamala? Is it Netanyahu is going to back off, because Trump will not fund his endless war? I think the first is more likely. Instead of Blinken running around trying to get Israel to backdown he is now going to have Pompeo and Kushner running around bribing Arab countries and terrorist orgs to attack Israel's enemies.

It's the consequence of the Lebanon op failure.
Everyone was expecting Israel to punch through the border and reach the Litani River in a matter of days if not hours. Meanwhile we're one month in, and Israeli foces have barely secured a 1km deep zone along the border. Hezbollah did the unthinkable - Hezbollah, a haji militia made a stand against a combined arms army and they managed to hold them off in the border zone. It came at a price of over 1000 confirmed Hezbollah KIAs, but they ground to a halt a superior fighting force.
Why did the Israeli intelligence failed to predict it ? Why is the Israeli army unable to break through ? - Someone has to answer for these failures.

Hezbollah are experienced fighters, they fought for several years in the Syrian war. I would argue they have the edge in terms of experience. The mountainous terrain as well is an equalizer.

I don't think this was surprising at all. The Israelis must have had tremendous hubris if they are so shocked it's not working.

Israel's biggest weakness has always been its infantry. They're good at fighting from a distance, but not so good when they have to get down and dirty. And Hezbollah has had decades to entrench itself in strong defensive positions along the border.

I think, that Israeli failure is rooted in their own hubris. They have both the intelligence gathering capabilities to locate every Hezbollah position and the superior firepower to level them down. But they underestimated the enemy. They expected Hezbollah to fall back and wage a guerilla campaign and clearly weren't ready to fight tooth and nail for evey inch of Lebanese soil. Now, those responsible for the planning and execution of the Lebanon op must be held accountable.

Okay, outside "someone has to be blamed" what does this move mean? Netanyahu buying more time, or, what I think it is, the Defense Minister thought Bibi was too aggressive and argued to pull back and Bibi is much more blood thirsty. Israel now knows that super-pro Israel Trump, with neo-cons like Nikki Haley, Mike Pompeo, Tom Cotton, Jared Kushner, and other satanic beings like Adelson are coming to their rescue and Bibi wants someone as blood thirsty as he is.

Thoughts on this?

I wouldn't make any bets. Back in 2020 when Trump was contesting the election results, Bibi was the first to wag his tail to Biden. And Trump, love him or hate him, is known to hold a grudge. So right know, without knowing who will hold positions in the future Trump admin, my guess is that Bibi will try to take advantage of the "interregnum" period in the US and he'll launch renewed offensives both in Gaza and in Lebanon so that the incoming administration will have to accept the facts, or rather chaos on the ground.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I absolutely had to reply to the sheer absurdity of the notion of China invading mainland US. Pray tell, how does China plan to transport its invading force across the Pacific Ocean?
Technology advances. With an average IQ of 105, and a system that actually rewards men and family creation, they could advance technology to have advanced bots/drones do the heavy lifting and fighting. What would a bunch of 80 IQ third worlders and low T, from chemicals, Whites do to stop them? Nothing.

I appreciate this point of view. I predict Trump will be Bibi's slave and that this notion of Trump getting revenge against someone as powerful as Bibi isn't going to happen. He can bully little guys and hold a grudge, a nobody like Obama. But against a heavy weight like Bibi, he will back down.

And just how are those bots/drones will be able to cross the Pacific Ocean? Not to mention that you already stated earlier that China intends to occupy the US. With what army? Bots and drones? Utterly ridiculous.

Look, I recognize that China is probably not a country that everyone in here finds favorably, but history had shown that it’s the US who is harboring dreams of world domination, not China. Almost every military decision they had made is in response to the US’s aggression. And I’m saying this as a Vietnamese, and y’all already knows there’s no love lost between Vietnam and China.

What are you asking? You realize 1960's technology allowed jets to fly around the globe and refuel in the air, correct? You are asking how China could transport drones across the ocean? Is that seriously what you are asking?

I'm a fan of China, I like the fact they are very strong pro-family, pro-male, and do a decent job of putting their people first whereas the USA is a satanic disaster. I'm not saying China wants global domination, I'm saying throughout all human history, the stronger civilization always overtakes the weaker civilization. Why would we expect this human design to change?

I don't see China attacking Russia or other current allies in an attempt to take over the world. I could see them taking out the satanic USA, who causes them a lot of problems, when the shoe is on the other foot.

You're new here, trust me and just stop. You're trying to argue with logic against broken unhinged emotion, you won't get anywhere.

But it does crack me up that someone registered just because they couldn't handle it anymore, most of us just gave up a while ago.
