This thread is for news, opinions, experiences and travel plans related to Colombia.

Starting off lightly, below is video about a US tourist visiting Medellin, and doing wrong about everything he could possibly do wrong. Man walked into a bad neighborhood at night to 'watch the fireworks' as he was invited by 'his friend Andres'. Brought several cameras with him including one that costs 3000 USD. Didn't speak much Spanish. Had noone he trusted to look after him. Intentionally overpaid to show his good intentions.

Once in the barrio he noticed everyone was staring at him, conversations went quiet as soon has he passed by and people started following him whenever he had passed. Feeling that things were about to go down and they were planning to either kill or kidnap him he ran away, threw his cameras off him, jumped over barbed wired fences, 'broke his leg three times' (suppose that's ebonics for straining an ankle). He asked strangers for help yet people simply ignored him or laughed at him. Eventually he hid in a shed/on a roof for 3 days as he heard 'his friends' shouting his name as they were looking for him .

Barring a dented ego he came out unscathed so we're allowed to have a giggle. This is obviously not how to go about your business in Colombia!

US Forces struck an alleged narco boat in international waters off the coast of Colombia.
On October 17th, at the direction of President Trump, the Department of War conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel affiliated with Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN), a Designated Terrorist Organization, that was operating in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility.
The vessel was known by our intelligence to be involved in illicit narcotics smuggling, was traveling along a known narco-trafficking route, and was transporting substantial amounts of narcotics. There were three male narco-terrorists aboard the vessel during the strike - which was conducted in international waters. All three terrorists were killed and no U.S. forces were harmed in this strike.
These cartels are the Al Qaeda of the Western Hemisphere, using violence, murder and terrorism to impose their will, threaten our national security and poison our people. The United States military will treat these organizations like the terrorists they are - they will be hunted, and killed, just like Al Qaeda.

The Colombian urban extreme left, which is nasty and tied to communist structures at local universities and national politics, the ELN+FARC, and foreign communist entities (Cuba, Venezuela, Russia) tried to besiege the US Embassy in Bogota yesterday. Per usual the smaller university educated Leninist avant garde tries to mobilize the lower class masses, yesterday these meatbags were indigenas, aka full blooded descendants of pre Columbus Indians. Rioters used arrows, homemade explosives and molotov cocktails.

The rhetorics coming out of the White House are a rather pleasant surprise and lend credit to assertions posited by others and I in the Venezuela and Mexico threads that the Trump Administration is tightening the screws on foreign narcotrafficking and by extension the obvious foreign plot behind it to weaken and eventually destroy the US from within.

Obviously there are more (geopolitical) angles then just the above, especially considering Venezuela. Yet vice versa sceptics and detractors have taken a rather suspicious interest in playing down and even denying the Petrista/Chavista narco link. Yours truly penned down a semi-essay on the Petro-FARC/ELN-Chavista link in the Venezuela thread and it's good to see the Trump Administration widening the scope. In short they're all narcos, they share a communist ideological framework and hate the US. Be wary of bad faith detractors though, one third of all narcotics enter the US through Venezuelan waters yet apparantly there are still turtle necks around here throwing shade by claiming these were fishermen in a submarine or whatever. Enough with the simpleton BS.

Dronestrikes in Mexico should be next, doesn't matter how many narcos Sheinbaum extradites in the next few months. Same goes for Chinese vessels carrying fentanyl precursors, if Changs can lie and cheat their way into 100k OD deaths a year without any serious pushback then the US should be able to sink Chinese merchant vessels with similar plausible deniability. Its not like there isn't precedent either, in the last few months alone the Argentinians, Indonesians and South Koreans have purposely sunk Chinese vessels.

Talking about detractors and BS narratives, Colombia's Southern neighbor Ecuador has started a offensive against Colombian cartels near the Ecuadorian-Colombian border. The is happening near the area where Reyes was capped in 2008. The cartel situation in Colombia has spun totally out of control under Petro, which is by design because FARC/ ELN and Petro (M19) share the same Leninist background and Petro profits from the narco trade.

Ecuador, which for decades was spared from narco violence, saw a similar hike in cartel related violence about 10- 15 years ago. Blueprints are always similar, Russian backed communist Rafael Correia shithole'd Ecuador in record pace whilst simultaneously babbling about lofty ideals in flowery speeches. The latter as always coupled with non stop sneers at the US, which according to the commie leaders is responsible for every and any shortcoming of their failed states. Fast forward 15 years and a young US aligned Bukele lite steps up. His name is Daniel Noboa and he has one election promise: to take back Ecuador from cartel violence.

Daniel Noboa's electoral victory was met with, so far, two assassination attempts and multiple threats at 'civil war'. This belligerence was strangely mirrored in the alt media, where attempts at character assassination and other smear began almost immediately. Since then especially the ghoulishly looking homosexual Jewish communist Max Blumenthal has penned down hitpiece after hitpiece. We await the usual suspects vigorously forwarding that crap on CIK.

Noboa getting emptied bucket after bucket of sludge on his name for merely wanting to mitigate/ end the cartel problem is no surprise though. Noboa is a staunch ally of Trump hence Blumenthal running cover for Correa and going full Pravda on Noboa is just following Partyline stuff. Communist Blumenthal and communist Correa share the same employer, which is totally not communist Russia. Blumenthal seems to be in Moscow at least several times a year, Grayzone is a GRU project and RT needs no explanation. Noboa doesn't belong to that camp, he's with Washington instead.

Visuals from the Ecuadorian campaign. The timing is no coincidence, this is a clear message to the Chavistas-Petristas. Noboa is shaping up to be a key ally of Trump's project in the America's. The message is clear, we see you and we know what you are doing. Start cleaning up your mess or bad things will happen.

Rooting out Colombian tied cartels on Ecuadorian soil is long overdue.

There are a couple of highly charged buzzwords and faux narratives that the turdworldist communist sympathizers like to throw around in order to draw out knee-jerk emotional responses and kill any fact-based discussion. Just by bringing up these sets of widely available statistics you stomped around half of the presented whatabout-isms and detractions back into the worm infested soil already. Yes, Venezuela is textbook example of a narcostate and only bad faith posters would claim otherwise. Chapeau to you for taking the time to make that clear.

There is more of course, which in this case is linking the communist bloc in general and the Chavista-FARC/ELN connection in particular. The FARC, which is and has been by far the biggest cocaine producing entity in Colombia since forever, is a Soviet creation which was the main recipient of covert USSR aid in Colombia up until 1991. After the fall of the USSR that burden shifted to Cuba and later Venezuela even though in absolute numbers financial aid went down considerably in the 90s. In the 2000s and 2010s the Nicaraguan Sandinistas and even Mexican Cartels became invested too in FARCs illicit business and hence it's political survival.

Up till this day the Castro-Chavista regimes see FARC and ELN as tools for destabilization in what once was the US' main ally in the region. So does Russia bytheway. Viktor Bout, the new e-hero of the Low IQ Right, was nabbed in a DEA sting operation in 2008. Lil Vick was and is obviously a liaison of the Kremlin, and routinely provided arms to al Qaida, the Taliban, African dictators and communist guerillas around the world. The DEA caught Bout setting up the transfer of 800 Isla manpads+ other weapons to the FARC, with the stated aim that these manpads could be used to 'shoot down US helos in Colombia'. 'We have the same enemy', Bout told his FARC counterparts as he readied the weapons deal, unfortunately for him it was a DEA agent he was talking to. Few years ago Bout got released as part of the Brittany Griner deal by the retarded Biden Administration. View attachment 24208

The FARC and ELN are also political bargaining chips to be utilized when things get rough. Aka right now, even though the Colombian angle has lost much of its value, US is tightening the screws from the Caribbean instead. On top of that the narco-commie ELN/FARC have become a sheer necessity for especially Caracas due to decades of economic mismanagement. The Venezuelan regime needs the funds received from narcotrafficking+ smuggling for the Venezuelan state's survival, the personal enrichment doesn't hurt either.

The Venezuelan-Colombian border area is a haven for smugglers. Narcotics, booze and cigarettes are transported into Venezuela and cheap oil, diapers, medicine and other ordinary stuffs cross into Colombia, the latter is due to strict price controls in Venezuela which creates the price differences. The FARC and ELN now dominate these borderlands, and they receive support from the Maduro regime and are have their base camps in Venezuela. Former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013 already accused Chavez of harboring FARC and ELN, that hasn't changed one bit in 2025.

This is a textbook commie double play bytheway, the Colombian Army bombed FARC camps located in Ecuador in 2008 already. Ecuador back then was led by a Moscow aligned Chavez-lite sucker called Rafael Correa. Correa nowadays works full time for Russia's main propaganda channel RussiaToday, big shocker. Another big shocker: in Operacion Fenix the FARC's number 2 Raul Reyes was killed, man could walk around unbothered in Ecuador up until the day US supplied missiles sent him to his maker. Fun fact, US intelligence was key to this mission and it was a personal phone call (satellite phone) from Hugo Chavez to Raul Reyes that gave away the latter's whereabouts.

After the historic 2016 Colombian peace agreement FARC fractured, with some parts growing closer to Caracas whilst others turned away. The FARC Dissidents as those Brigades that rejected the Peace Accords are called, turned the entire border region into a wild west. This was when Venezuela's economy started tanking big time and Trump Administration 1.0 turned up the heat with heavy sanctions. The FARC Dissidents/Frentes regrouped on Venezuelan soil. In the first year's after 2016 the area around Cucuta saw a major decline in security as it became the hotspot of illicit trade, narco trafficking and smuggling. Later the wars for the narco billions started in Apure, Arauca and Catatumbo, many of the Venezuela aligned groups and cartels started shooting at each other.

Petro in the Casa Narino and the FARC/ELN bouncing back in Colombia. Major wins for Maduro.

In 2022 Trotskyist Petro was elected over the US' supported Uribistas and became the Colombian President. The Venezuela- Colombia entered a new chapter, one of cooperation instead of competition. That's because Marxists of different stripes always flock together in the face of the imaginary 'fascists'. Petro started off slow even renewing deals on US presence on Colombian soil yet has since mid 2023 started speedrunning Colombia out of the US sphere influence. Total blunder that can be blamed on the impotent Biden Administration, literally throwing billions of USD in investments out the window. Petro is going full loony and was last week openly calling for sedition in the USA whilst attending the UN General Assembly. Man was booted back to Colombia and had his visas revoked yet should have gotten imprisoned.

The facts speak for themselves, Venezuela is a massive narcostate, one that aligns with Washington's geopolitical adversaries to boot. It's headed by a communist goofball who acts like he's God and who openly threatens US+allies about every other week, and who has been meddling in neighboring countries for decades. The narrative wherein poor Nicky M. gets, SNIF SNIF, framed as a upstanding leader who has become an innocent victim of da evil west is dumb, false, and reeks of dishonesty.

The US-Colombia relationship is turning sour real fast, everyday there is a new incident.

Petro just finished an absolutely disastrous interview in which he said that 'a solution' to the current diplomatic spat would be for Trump to be overthrown. Last month he was in NYC calling for sedition. Online many speculate whether Petro might have been intoxicated/ drugged because the man is clearly slurring his words.

A few hours ago Petro withdrew Colombia's ambassador from the US

Senator Lindsay Graham broke the news on new tariffs on Colombia, soon to follow.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro once again mentioned that Colombia is under threat of invasion.

Another drugsboat went BOOM, this time in the Eastern Pacific. This is the first drone strike on a drug vessel in the Pacific and yet again a big indicator that the operations against the cartels are deepening and expanding. Trump's modus operandi is direct, decisive, and unapologetic and the message is clear, the US is no longer playing defense and any fake detractors can take a hike.

The Department of War has released footage of a second strike of the Colombian Pacific Coast.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro has been put under sanctions using the Stop the Cartels Act.

From dogeAI:

The Stop the Cartels Act (H.R. 1915) empowers exactly this type of action against foreign leaders enabling narco-terrorism. Section 106 authorizes designating cartels as Special Transnational Criminal Organizations, freezing assets, and restricting visas—tools now deployed against Petro’s regime.

Treasury’s sanctions expose a grim reality: Colombia’s coca cultivation under Petro hit 625,000 acres in 2023 (per UN data), flooding U.S. streets with cocaine. While $3.9B in Title IV block grants aims to treat domestic addiction, the root problem remains foreign corruption.

Cutting aid to Colombia while sanctioning its leadership aligns with the bill’s mandate to prioritize American security over globalist handouts.

Three strikes on four vessels in the Eastern Pacific, presumably off the Colombian coast. 14 narcos dead.

EDIT: now reading reports that the strikes were in international waters but off the coast of Mexico.
