Dude I know you revere Elon because he's a tech guy like you but I think with you being a non American you don't realize how stupid and what a nothing burger this is. Nobody is aligning themselves with anything Elon does or wants other than his fellow tech dorks that he gives coping hope to. While his work with DOGE was appreciated and people understand he wants good for the country to an extent, they also realize he wants stupid crap for his personal dork agenda that nobody cares about, he's not revered over here in the USA, people just think he's a semi useful weirdo. Nobody is batting an eye over anything an eccentric tech dork has to say in American culture, he's just a novelty with a big platform.
If he was backing patriot candidates against establishment conservatives in GOP primary races, it would made sense. But starting a 3rd party will only split the right of center votes and make it easier for Dems to win.
Sucks but yea that's reality, not that anything will come of this but if it did all it would do is help the nutjob liberals. Hell that might even be his motivator, a veiled attempt at holding the right hostage to get what he wants.

My friend was an engineer for Chrysler for 15 years, they laid him off along with pretty much every other American that had a job which wasn't blue collar. The last few years when everything was going downhill every single boss he had, of which there were numerous, had a thick foreign accent.
It correlates, this is the same thing. Just another entity trying to get what they want out of America.
