Poland Politics Thread

^
Poland was already going through a rapid, among younger generations, seculariztation.

Off-topic but this caught my eyes from the article

"In the 1990s, homosexuality was seen as an invention of the decadent West," said Robert Samborski, a former seminarian who lost his faith.

Like many, Samborski was sent to a seminary "like other young men not interested in women".

Gives credence to the idea I've seen floated about that a reason for all the priest/boy sex scandals is due to the seminaries being flooded with homosexuals

I'm significantly more religious than any Polish people I know on a day to day basis - and I'm a newcomer to faith.

The saving grace for Poland is that its going into its globohomo era when the rest of the west is starting - ever so slowly - to push back on its fringe elements. This should slow it down a fair bit, and stop it before it's too late. Outside of the 3 or 4 major cities the visible demographics are like England in the 1800s. And even in Warsaw, it's probably like London in the 1960s. The other cities, like London in the 1940s/50s.

If an ethnonationalist political party in Western Europe 'settled' for Poland's European demographic percentages, you'd snap their arm off.
Too many people have seen the decadence of the West and want no part of it. I think you are right that Poland and other post-socialist states will not devolve to the same level. Unfortunately a lot of the pushback is based on common sense secular reasons and not faith.

If the PSL vote does not collapse entirely come the next election (or if PSL does not revolt from within both the alliance with Hołownia/Polska 2050 and the broader coalition these parties have with PO/Lewica prior to said election), PSL voters are themselves to blame.

PSL handed Tusk the last election. Hołownia did not have the numbers by himself to do this and even his numbers were boosted by the alliance with KP/PSL. The latter is meant to represent the interests of less overtly religious but still conservative (rural and small town) voters. It is presently doing the complete opposite.

Many Polish voters are shockingly blasé about the actual post-election results of their chosen parties and instead focus on the pre-election wordage of candidates.

Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has so much to answer for. There is no point in the so-called Trzecia Droga-Third Way if you outright align with PO, instead of balancing PO and PiS as they said they would.

If PSL voters bothered to read newspapers and complain, we would not be seeing this accelerating globalhomo claptrap.
