I think it has more to do with engaging in activities where they hardly interact with refugees / illegal immigrants. As an example, people who don't party or go out late at night will hardly ever see the worst of the worst.
Another group typically impacted are young teens and, by extension, their parents. These kids get bullied and picked on randomly on the street. Even as a teen I can remember the immigrants surrounding me in an interrogative fashion just to provoke me. Once I matured and started lifting, I was never ever bothered by them again. This doesn't mean that lifting weights is a reliable solution, it definitely is not.
Thus, if these girls spend most of their free time at home, at a café, hiking, skiing, in the forest etc., the truth is that they won't come across any of those aggressive immigrants. And, yea, skiing is a privilege, but walking in the forest or simply staying at home aren't.
I can already envision these types of German doctors who are completely unaware of what's going on in their own country.
