With the Nativity approaching, I thought it might be nice to start a thread for us to honor the King of Kings as a way to promote peace and goodwill to all men. We will soon be attacked with cheesy, watered-down commercialism. This can be a place for us to share our favorite carols, hymns, and traditions.
I was raised a Protestant. I have very fond memories singing Christmas hymns in church and school (I grew up in a time when we were an unapologetic Christian nation). In my public high school choir, we started the Christmas program every year with “O Come All Ye Faithful” (in Latin) carrying candles and wearing robes. We concluded the concert each year with “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”.
