Do you believe in “Stocastic terrorism”

Stochastic terrorism is the belief that by speaking “hate speech”, you rule up someone to commit illegal acts of violence without instructing then. I believe this is an attempted attack on the first amendment.

This actually has the potential to even affect religious services, see the following article:

Anderson claimed in one of his uploaded YouTube sermons that “these people all should’ve been killed anyway” given that “the Bible says that homosexuals should be put to death.”

He claimed at the time that a “righteous government” should have tried the victims in court and had them executed according to “God’s perfect law.”

Lipowsky said: “You could have people listening to that and take that responsibility because this is the will of God — ‘if the government won’t take that action then I have to do it.’ That’s the danger of the consequences of these types of work.”

That’s the argument the left is trying to take in terms of free speech. Its tyrannical.

Hate speech. This doesn´t exist. Violent/agressive speech maybe. But the concept of hate speech is so stupid. Orwell. Stupid people everywhere. The coercion of speech. Made by laws created by retards. Only has one outcome. The lack of criticism and the obvious continuation of error. You cannot point out error. Because it hurts feelings. No correction of trajectory is possible. Even when its wrong to others. Its fascism of the dumb. Stupid people everywhere. Somehow stupid people obtained positions of leadership and are now in control. Hard times ahead.

Leftists get called out.

In practice, the censorious American left uses the phrase stochastic terrorism as a way of accusing its detractors of inciting violence, which by no accident is precisely the only form of speech that can be banned under the First Amendment.

Here’s another example:

The first set of comments started by “videoninja” ends up resulting in the dude basically pussying out of the convo instead of actually explaining why leftists were innocent of “stochastic terrorism” while right wingers were not.

Even this writer on NBC (a super liberal news source) thinks the way in which leftists use stochastic terrorism is flawed.

Stochastic just means random, the opposite of deterministic. For example, in a deterministic process, A always leads to B and never leads to C. In a stochastic process, A leads to B 70% of the time and leads to C 30% of the time. You can't predict any the outcome of any single instance, but you can reasonably infer that if you do A 100 times, you will get about 70 Bs and about 30 Cs. Then you can do other calculations based on the variance, for example determine the probability of getting less than 60 Bs and over 40 Cs. Stochastic processes are meaningful if there is actual data.

Nuclear decay is a natural stochastic process. The Black-Scholes equation attempts to model financial derivatives stochastically. Can hate speech be "stochastic" terrorism? I suppose technically they are correct as you can say something that somehow leads to a certain number of people becoming terrorists. But also, If I cut someone off in traffic, that could inadvertently be "stochastic" terrorism if the other driver goes crazy and starts killing people. A butterfly flapping it's wings in the Pacific Ocean could create terrorists in Atlanta or Cleveland. Unless they actually have data or demonstrated some sort of concrete causal relationship, the idea of "stochastic" terrorism is meaningless.

This is pure NLP, like "WMD", stochastic terrorism is a term that rhetorically enables characterizing "controversial" speech as incitement for violence and terrorism.
