Jordan Peterson Thread

^What we do know about Peterson is that he has made a career of rejecting Christ and almost pretending he was Christian. What makes his case even more problematic is that he has been a mentor to perhaps millions of young men in search of spiritual guidance and have kept most from going to Christ, diverting them instead into generic liberalism.

That is why he is a dark figure, and that darkness ended up consuming him. As in inveterate neoliberal atheist, he has been unable to see the light. I strongly believe that had he wholeheartedly embraced Christ as his Lord and Savior, he would never have had this kind of deep spiritual torment and physical deterioration.

I always knew he was a charlatan tbh but then I guess I wasn't his target audience.

Not just young men, I know of gen X lawyers who profusely read his books so to not feel guilty about their glutinous lifestyles.

They also, like Peterson, pretended to be on the cusp of converting and accepting our Lord Jesus Christ.

Peterson has made a career as a clinical psychologist and a college professor. He has not "made a career of rejecting Jesus Christ." That is a slander. This is the type of intellectual dishonesty that I would expect from an It_Is_My_Time and there are plenty of members on the forum like this today. It stems from an irrational blame and hatred of Jews that is so pervasive here. I can be critical of Israel and Jews while articulating my legit rationale for criticism. Members here are so consumed by Jew-Jew that it clouds their arguments about everything that could be related. (((Litmus Test)))

You claim to know what "most" young men who listen to Jordan Peterson have or haven't done in their spiritual quest in life and what they have otherwise embraced as a result. That is unknowable.

Peterson's lectures and Biblical series' on Genesis and Exodus are extensive. He has shown to a modern, secular world why the Bible is relevant and why it is the foundation of Western Societies. This promotes a renewed interest and discussion of the Bible in the public domain of ideas which is critically needed today. Peterson has also has demonstrated why those societies who ignore the Bible do so at their own peril.
When anyone is forming an argument (especially attacks), I ask myself "is what this person is stating knowable?" What you have stated above is emotional opinion. Job had "deep spiritual torment and physical deterioration" too and he had a strong walk with God. We don't know why God does what he does and allows things to happen as they do. Perhaps this is Jordan Peterson's 'Jonah event' with the great fish? Maybe, but that is unknowable. When I listen to the testimony of others that have accepted Christ, there are many times such an event shook them from their malaise and was a catalyst to a transformation and embrace of the Lord. Those events can be terrifying! I hope I never come off with a callous 'they deserve it anyway' attitude when someone is ill.
